The LRS-200N2-48 is the 48V output model in MEAN WELL's LRS-200N2 series of 200W single-output enclosed industrial power supplies. Delivering 4.4A at 48V DC with 211.2W rated power, this model achieves the highest efficiency in the series at 90%—making it the optimal choice for telecom, PoE (Power over Ethernet), and datacom applications where 48V is the standard distribution voltage.
The LRS-200N2 series uses a switch-selected 115/230VAC input design (90~132VAC or 180~264VAC via front-panel switch). It also accepts 240~370VDC input when the switch is set to 230VAC position—useful for battery-backed DC power systems.
The 200% peak power capability delivers up to 422.4W for up to 5 seconds (duty ≤ 35%), handling PoE switch boot currents and telecom equipment power surges. The 90% efficiency minimizes heat dissipation in densely packed telecom racks.
The 48V output is the backbone voltage for telecom central office power (-48V systems), PoE injectors and switches (IEEE 802.3af/at/bt), datacom rack power, battery charging systems, and industrial process controllers. The 215×115×30mm fanless housing operates from -25°C to +70°C.

Yes. The 48V output is compatible with PoE midspan/endpoint PSE (Power Sourcing Equipment) that requires 48-54V DC input. With 4.4A output, it can power multiple PoE ports. The 200% peak power handles PoE port power-on surges. Always verify your specific PoE switch or injector input requirements.
Higher output voltage generally results in lower conversion losses—the same wattage at higher voltage means lower current, which reduces I²R losses in the switching circuitry. The 90% efficiency on the 48V model vs 87.5% on the 12V model translates to measurably less heat in continuous-duty telecom applications.
The LRS-200N2-48 provides positive +48V output. Traditional telecom central office power uses -48V (negative ground). You will need to check if your equipment accepts positive 48V or requires negative polarity. Some modern telecom equipment is polarity-insensitive. For lower-power 48V needs, the LRS-100N2-48 (100.8W) is an alternative.
Yes. When the input switch is set to 230VAC, the LRS-200N2-48 accepts 240~370VDC input. This is useful for battery-backed systems where a 240-370VDC bus is available (common in telecom -48V battery plants with DC-DC converters). Note that the switch must be correctly positioned—incorrect setting may cause malfunction or damage.
