The LRS-200N2 series is MEAN WELL's 200W single-output enclosed industrial power supply with 200% peak power capability. Featuring a 30mm low-profile design and switchable 115/230VAC input, it delivers high power density in a compact 215×115×30mm form factor—ideal for motor-driven loads and industrial automation where momentary high current demand is required.

The LRS-200N2 uses a switchable 90~132VAC / 180~264VAC input (selected via built-in switch), and also supports 240~370VDC input. Available in four output voltages—12V, 24V, 36V, and 48V—it delivers up to 17A at 12V and 4.4A at 48V, covering a wide range of industrial power needs.

Measuring 215×115×30mm, the LRS-200N2 packs 200W into a remarkably slim chassis. The perforated metal case enables convection-cooled, fanless operation across an ambient range of -25°C to +70°C. A key upgrade over previous generations is the addition of over-temperature protection, which shuts down the output if internal temperatures exceed safe limits—preventing thermal damage and extending service life.

The defining advantage is the 200% peak power output (up to 400W). When starting motors, solenoids, relays, or other inductive/capacitive loads, the unit delivers double its rated wattage momentarily, making it especially valuable in CNC machining, packaging machinery, conveyor systems, and any application with frequent start/stop cycles requiring high inrush current handling.

Note: This model is not compliant with EN61000-3-2 harmonic current requirements. It should not be used in end equipment connected to 220VAC+ public mains within the EU where average input power exceeds 75W, unless the equipment falls under professional or exempt categories.

How do I set the correct input voltage on the LRS-200N2?

The LRS-200N2 uses a built-in selector switch to choose between 115VAC (90~132VAC) and 230VAC (180~264VAC) input ranges. Always verify the switch position matches your local mains voltage before powering on. Incorrect setting may cause damage. For DC input (240~370VDC), set the switch to the 230VAC position.

Can the LRS-200N2 be used in EU countries?

Yes, but with an important restriction: the LRS-200N2 is not compliant with EN61000-3-2 harmonic current limits. It should NOT be used in end equipment meeting ALL of these conditions: (a) used within the EU, (b) connected to 220VAC+ public mains, (c) installed in equipment with average/continuous input power >75W, and (d) part of a lighting system. Professional equipment rated >1,000W and symmetrically controlled heating elements ≤200W are exempt. For EU applications within these restrictions, consider the LRS-350 series instead.

Is this power supply suitable for outdoor use?

The LRS-200N2 operates reliably from -25°C to +70°C and withstands 5G vibration. However, it does not carry an IP rating for water ingress—it must be installed inside a weatherproof enclosure when used outdoors.

Is the 48V model BIS-certified for India?

The 48V model is not currently covered under the BIS (IS 13252) certification. The 12V, 24V, and 36V models are BIS-certified and should be selected for shipments to India.

How does the LRS-200N2 compare to the LRS-100N2?

The LRS-200N2 doubles the power to 200W with a larger 215×115mm footprint (vs. 129×97mm).
