The APC-25 series is MEAN WELL's 25W constant-current LED driver on a new 84x57x29.5mm platform -- the most powerful APC CC driver with four current options including the series-first 1050mA. A major technology leap: 300VAC 5-second surge immunity (absent on all previous APC models), OVP with restart auto-recovery instead of diode clamping, 70V compliance ceiling, and 1500ms fast start-up.

The APC-25 accepts 90~264Vac with 0.4A/230V, 0.8A/115V and 45A inrush. Four fixed current options with +/-8% accuracy and 5.0% ripple: 350mA (25~70V/24.5W), 500mA (15~50V/25.2W), 700mA (11~36V/25.2W), and 1050mA (9~24V/25.2W). All models deliver 83% efficiency with 1500ms/30ms start-up and 20ms/230V hold-up. The 350mA variant's 25~70V compliance range is the highest-voltage CC capability in any APC series.

300VAC 5-second surge immunity is the flagship feature: this protects against grid voltage spikes in unstable power environments -- industrial areas, developing regions, and outdoor installations with frequent lightning-induced surges. The APC-25 withstands input surges that would destroy an APC-16 or APC-12. OVP restart recovery (not diode clamping) means the output auto-restarts after OVP is cleared -- no manual power-cycling needed.

Why is APC-25-350 NOT UL8750/BIS certified?

The 350mA variant operates at 25~70V with OVP at 76~94V -- exceeding the 60V safety threshold for Class 2/LPS certification and UL8750 LED driver limits. When output exceeds 60V DC, additional safety requirements apply that the APC-25 plastic Class II chassis cannot meet. All other models (500/700/1050mA) are UL8750/BIS/LPS certified with compliance ranges staying within 50V/36V/24V respectively. For certified 350mA CC, use APC-16-350 (12~48V, fully certified) or choose a 500mA model with 15~50V range.

How is OVP restart different from diode clamping?
