Product Overview

The MEAN WELL ELG-150 series is a 150W AC-to-DC LED driver family designed for both constant-current (CC) and constant-voltage (CV) operation. It accepts universal 100~305VAC input (142~431VDC) and offers output voltages from 12V to 54V, making it a flexible platform for outdoor and indoor LED lighting systems.

With peak efficiency up to 91%, the ELG-150 uses a fanless design and operates at a case temperature of -40C to +90C under natural convection. The sealed metal enclosure carries IP67 or IP65 ratings depending on the version, and is certified to UL8750 Type HL for use in Class I Division 2 hazardous location luminaires.

Five function versions are available: Blank (fixed output, IP67), A (internal potentiometer adjustment, IP65), B (3-in-1 dimming, IP67), AB (pot adjustment + 3-in-1 dimming, IP65), and DA (DALI interface, IP67). This lets lighting designers match the exact control, protection, and wiring strategy of each luminaire without changing the driver platform.

Standard protection includes OVP, OTP, short-circuit hiccup, and over-current CC limiting. The driver withstands 6KV line-to-ground and 4KV line-to-line surge, complies with global lighting safety and EMC standards, and is backed by a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between CC mode and CV mode on ELG-150?

In CC mode the driver maintains a constant current output while the voltage automatically adjusts within the model-specific CC range to match the LED string forward voltage. In CV mode the driver maintains a stable output voltage with a current limit, suitable for LED strips, modules, or loads that expect a fixed voltage bus.

Why does the power drop at 100~180VAC?

ELG-150 delivers full rated power at 200~305VAC but derates at 100~180VAC (for example, 150W models drop to 105W and the 12V model drops to 84W). The lower input voltage limits the PFC boost stage, so full power is only available on 208V, 230V, or 277V grids.

Which version type should I choose?

Blank for simple fixed-output outdoor luminaires. A-Type for indoor fixtures needing current/voltage tuning via internal pot. B-Type for outdoor smart lighting with 0-10V/PWM/resistor dimming. AB-Type for maximum flexibility with both tuning and dimming. DA-Type for DALI building management integration. Note: A and AB are IP65 and require internal use for Type HL.

Is ELG-150 BIS-certified for India?

BIS IS15885 is available on selected ELG-150 models. Per the datasheet, covered types include 12/12A/12B/12DA, 24/24A/24B/24DA, 36A/36B, 42/42A/42B, 48A/48B, and 54/54A/54B. Confirm the exact voltage and version suffix carries BIS before ordering for India-bound luminaires.
