The MEAN WELL GST60A series is a high-reliability 60W AC-DC desktop single-output green adapter built into a fully enclosed plastic housing. It connects to mains through a 3-pole IEC320-C14 inlet and is a Class I power supply with protective earth. Input range is a universal 90~264VAC, and the series covers eight output voltages from 5V to 48VDC, serving consumer electronic devices, telecom equipment, office equipment and industrial equipment.
Because the input is 3-pole, the chassis is bonded to earth and the unit has passed the LPS (limited power source) test. Withstand voltage is 3KVAC input-to-output, 2KVAC input-to-FG and 0.5KVAC output-to-FG, with insulation resistance of 100M Ohms minimum at 500VDC. The 94V-0 flame-retardant enclosure is fully sealed, so no live part is exposed in normal operation. Note that this is an ITE product: maximum leakage current is 0.75mA at 240VAC, so for patient-contact medical equipment choose a 60601-1 certified adapter from the GSM series instead.
Efficiency reaches 91% on the 48V model with no-load power consumption below 0.075W across the series, meeting Efficiency Level VI and complying with USA EISA 2007/DoE, Canada NRCan, Korea K-MEPS, AU/NZ MEPS, EU ErP and CoC Version 5. Safety approvals cover UL62368-1, CSA C22.2 No.62368-1, TUV BS EN/EN62368-1, BSMI CNS15598-1, CCC GB4943.1, PSE J62368-1, AS/NZS 62368.1, BIS IS13252, KC K60950-1 and EAC TP TC 004, with conducted and radiated emissions held to Class B limits.
The standard DC output plug is the P1J (5.5 x 2.1 x 11mm tuning fork, center positive). In the standard version the negative output is not connected to AC FG. Tuning fork, barrel, lock, min. pin, center pin and DIN style plugs can be fitted at the factory, and quick-change DC plug adapters are sold separately with no MOQ. Protections cover short circuit, overload (105%~150% of rated power, hiccup mode with auto-recovery), over voltage (trip window specified per model, shutdown output and restart to recover) and over temperature (shutdown output, restart after the unit cools down). The 125 x 50 x 31.5mm adapter weighs 305g, operates from -30C to +70C and is backed by a 3-year warranty.

Overload protection is specified once for the whole series: it trips at 105%~150% of rated output power in hiccup mode and recovers automatically once the fault condition is removed. Over-voltage protection is specified per model, with the trip window listed in the OVP column above; the output shuts down and recovers on restart. No. Output current is capped at 6A on the three lowest voltages, so the 5V model is rated 30W maximum, the 7.5V model 45W and the 9V model 54W. The 12V, 15V, 18V, 24V and 48V models are all rated 60W maximum. All eight share the same 125 x 50 x 31.5mm housing and the same 90~264VAC input range. There is no 28V model in this series - the line-up goes from 24V straight to 48V.
The standard plug is P1J, a 5.5 x 2.1 x 11mm tuning fork type with center positive polarity. MEAN WELL can fit other plug styles such as tuning fork, barrel, lock, min. pin, center pin and DIN connectors at the factory subject to a minimum order quantity. No. GST60A is an ITE product certified to the 62368-1 safety standard with a maximum leakage current of 0.75mA at 240VAC. For equipment with patient contact, use a 60601-1 certified adapter from the MEAN WELL GSM medical series instead, which provides 2xMOPP isolation and touch current below 50uA. The adapter is in any case a component intended to be built into end equipment, so EMC and safety of the complete system must be confirmed with the finished device.
Overload protection trips at 105%~150% of rated output power and runs in hiccup mode, recovering automatically once the fault is removed. Over-voltage protection has a trip window specified per model (for example 5.2~6.8V on the 5V model) and shuts the output down until the unit is restarted. Over-temperature protection also shuts the output down and requires a restart after the unit has cooled. Short circuit protection recovers automatically.
