Product Overview

The MEAN WELL XLG-50 series is a 50W AC-to-DC constant-power LED driver family with IP67 protection, Class 2 power rating, and Type HL certification for Class I, Division 2 hazardous location lighting. It is designed for LED street lighting, architectural lighting, bay lighting, flood lighting, and industrial lighting.

It accepts universal 100~305VAC input (127~431VDC) and provides a constant-power 25W output with a default current of 1000mA and an adjustable current range of 0.53~2.1A via an internal potentiometer. The constant-current region is 22~54V with a maximum open-circuit voltage of 57V. With peak efficiency up to 90%, the driver uses a fanless design and operates at case temperatures from -40C to +90C under free air convection.

The metal enclosure carries an IP67 rating for both indoor and outdoor use. Four function versions are available: A (current adjustable), AB (current adjustable + 3-in-1 dimming), I-A (India version with input OVP), and I-AB (India version with dimming + input OVP). The AB-type dimming circuit is galvanically isolated from the output and supports 0~10Vdc / 10V PWM / resistor dimming down to approximately 0%. No-load power consumption is below 0.5W on A-Type and standby power below 0.5W on AB-Type.

Protection includes over-power (110-150%), short-circuit (constant current limiting), and over-temperature (hiccup mode), all with automatic recovery after fault removal. The I-Type adds input over-voltage protection at 320~370VAC. The driver complies with global lighting safety and EMC standards including UL8750 Type HL, CSA, ENEC, AS/NZS, BS EN/EN, GB/T, JIS, EAC, KC, and IS 15885 (I-Type only), and is backed by a 5-year warranty. Note: a switch must be installed between the mains and the LED driver to meet the latest ErP regulations.
