The APC-8 series is MEAN WELL's entry-level 8W constant-current LED driver -- the CC counterpart to the APV-8 CV series in the identical 60x30x23.5mm plastic chassis. Unlike the APV which delivers a fixed voltage, the APC regulates current at 250mA, 350mA, 500mA, or 700mA with a compliance voltage range that automatically adapts to the LED string's forward voltage. This is a pure CC driver for series-connected LEDs with minimal protection (short circuit only, hiccup mode).

The APC-8 accepts 90~264Vac with 0.15A/230V, 0.3A/115V and 70A inrush. Four fixed current outputs with ±8% accuracy: 250mA (16~32V/8W), 350mA (11~23V/8.05W), 500mA (8~16V/8W), and 700mA (6~11V/7.7W). The compliance voltage range means the driver automatically adjusts output voltage to maintain the set current -- no voltage setting required, just match the LED string Vf to the compliance range. APC-8 is constant-current (CC), APV-8 is constant-voltage (CV). Why no OVP or OLP on APC-8?

In a constant-current driver, the output voltage is determined by the LED load, not regulated by the driver. If the LED string opens, the output voltage rises to the no-load voltage (17~38V) and stays there -- no overvoltage condition. If the load shorts, the SC hiccup protection activates.
