Product Overview

The MEAN WELL HLG-480H-C series is a 480W AC-to-DC constant-current (CC) LED driver family with Type HL certification for Class I, Division 2 hazardous location lighting. It is designed for LED harbor lighting, greenhouse lighting, stadium lighting, mining lighting, and high-power outdoor luminaires.

It accepts universal 90~305VAC input (127~431VDC) and provides five fixed output current options: 1400mA, 1750mA, 2100mA, 2800mA and 3500mA. With peak efficiency up to 95%, the driver uses a fanless design and operates at case temperatures from -40C to +90C under free air convection.

The metal enclosure carries IP67 or IP65 ratings depending on the version. Four function versions are available: A (output current adjustable via built-in potentiometer, IP65), B (3-in-1 dimming, IP67), AB (current adjustment + 3-in-1 dimming, IP65), and Dx (smart timer dimming functions, IP67, customer-specific - contact MEAN WELL for details). All versions feature MEAN WELL's ambient adaptive capability for reliable operation in a wide range of installation environments.

Protection includes OVP (shutdown with re-power recovery), OTP (automatic recovery after temperature drops), and short-circuit constant-current limiting with automatic recovery. The driver complies with global lighting safety and EMC standards including UL8750 Type HL, CSA, IEC/AS/NZS/GB, and EAC, and is backed by a 7-year warranty. Note: a switch must be installed between the mains and the LED driver to meet the latest ErP regulations.
