Product Overview

The MDR-60 series is a direct 1.5x power upgrade to the MDR-40 platform -- same 40mm width, same terminals, same certifications, more power. It retains the DC OK relay contact (NC, 30V/1A), HazLoc Class I Div 2 T4 certification, EN61000-6-2 heavy industrial EMC, and the same 5/12/24/48V voltage lineup. The only differences: 60W output, 10A 5V burst capability, and slightly higher AC current consumption.

The MDR-60 accepts universal 85~264Vac input (120~370Vdc) with 1.8A/115V, 1A/230V AC current and 30A/60A cold-start inrush. Four voltages: 5V (10A/50W), 12V (5A/60W), 24V (2.5A/60W), and 48V (1.25A/60W). The 5V model delivers 50W -- 67% more than MDR-40-5's 30W. Efficiency ranges from 78% at 5V to 87% at 24V/48V (vs 88% on MDR-40 -- a 1% trade-off for 1.5x power in the same chassis).

All MDR-40 platform features carry forward: DC OK relay dry contact (NC when healthy, opens on fault), 105~150% CC overload with auto-recovery, wide voltage adjust (5~6V, 12~15V, 24~30V, 48~56V), OVP shutdown requiring restart, 50ms/20ms hold-up, <0.75W no-load, Class B emissions with EN61000-6-2 heavy industrial immunity, and 3KVac I/P-O/P isolation. The relay contact is galvanically isolated -- compatible with any PLC voltage.

Safety certifications match MDR-40 exactly: UL508, UL62368-1, TUV BS EN/EN62368-1, Class I Div 2 Groups A/B/C/D HazLoc T4, EAC, BSMI, AS/NZS 60950.1, and BIS IS13252 (except 48V). Can I drop MDR-60 into an existing MDR-40 panel?

Yes -- 100% mechanically and electrically compatible. MDR-60 uses the identical 40x90x100mm chassis, the same TS-35 DIN rail mount, the same terminal layout (N/L/FG/DC OK relay/+V/-V), the same relay contact (NC, 30V/1A), and the same voltage adjust ranges per model. The only differences are AC current consumption (1.8A vs 1.1A at 115V) -- ensure your upstream breaker is sized accordingly -- and weight (287g vs 300g).

How does MDR-60 compare to MDR-40?

Same platform, more power. MDR-60: 60W (1.5x), 5V=10A/50W (vs 6A/30W), 12V=5A/60W (vs 3.33A/40W), 24V=2.5A/60W (vs 1.7A/40.8W), 48V=1.25A/60W (vs 0.83A/39.8W). Why is 5V limited to 50W?

At 5V output, the 10A current delivers 50W -- this is a thermal limitation of the platform at very low output voltages, consistent across all MDR models (MDR-10-5=10W, MDR-20-5=15W, MDR-40-5=30W). For full 60W, choose 12V, 24V, or 48V.

Is BIS available for MDR-60-48?

No. The 48V model is excluded from BIS certification, same as MDR-40-48. All other models (5V, 12V, 24V) carry full BIS IS13252 certification.
