Product Overview

The MEAN WELL XLG-320 series is a 315W AC-to-DC constant-power LED driver family with IP67 protection, Class P certification, and Type HL listing for Class I, Division 2 hazardous location lighting (except 48V model). It is designed for LED high-bay lighting, street lighting, architectural lighting, flood lighting, grow lighting, fishing lighting, stage lighting, sports lighting, and industrial lighting.

It accepts universal 100~305VAC input (142~431VDC) and provides multiple output options: L-Type CC (1400mA / 150~300V / 315W), M-Type CC (2800mA / 74~148V / 310.8W), H-Type CC (5600mA / 30~56V / 312W), V-Type CV+CC (13A / 12V~24V / 312W), and 48V CV dimming (6.5A / 43.2~52.8V / 312W). The L-Type achieves peak efficiency up to 94.5%, while the M-Type, H-Type, V-Type and 48V model reach 93.5%, 92.5%, 93% and 93.5% respectively. The driver uses a fanless design and operates at case temperatures from -40C to +85C under free air convection (48V model: -20C to +85C).

The metal enclosure carries an IP67 rating for both indoor and outdoor use. Multiple function versions are available: Blank (fixed output, suitable for harsh environments), A (current adjustable via internal potentiometer, L/M/H/V only), AB (current adjustable + 3-in-1 dimming, L/M/H only), ABV (48V constant-voltage with flicker-free 3-in-1 dimming down to 0V), and CV (fixed constant-voltage, V-Type only). The AB/ABV-Type dimming circuit is galvanically isolated from the output and supports 0~10Vdc / 10V PWM / resistor dimming. An India version (XLG-320I) adds input over-voltage protection at 320~390VAC and IS 15885 certification. Non-48V models are also compliant with EN60335-1 for household appliance applications.

Protection includes over-current (105~150% for CC models, hiccup), short-circuit (hiccup mode or constant current limiting), over-voltage (L/M/H/48V models), over-temperature (shut off or de-rating, re-power on), and overload (105~135% for 48V ABV and V-Type), all with automatic recovery after fault removal. The driver complies with global lighting safety and EMC standards including UL8750 Type HL, UL879, CSA, ENEC, BS EN/EN, GB/T, JIS, EAC, KC, NOM, EN60335-1 (non-48V), and IS 15885 (I-Type only), and is backed by a 5-year warranty. Note: a switch must be installed between the mains and the LED driver to meet the latest ErP regulations.

AB-Type (L/M/H) and ABV-Type (48V) support 3-in-1 dimming: 0~10Vdc analog voltage, 10V PWM signal (100Hz~3kHz for AB, 200Hz~3kHz for ABV), or an external resistor. The DIM- port is isolated from Vo- and must not be connected to Vo-. Output current/voltage can be dimmed down to approximately 0%.

What does Class P and Type HL mean?

Class P means the LED driver is UL recognized as a Class P thermal-protected device, allowing it to be used in luminaires without additional thermal testing.
