The RSP-200 series is MEAN WELL's 200W premium enclosed power supply with the broadest voltage coverage in the RSP family - 12 models from 2.5V to 48V. Featuring unique ultra-low-voltage models (2.5V, 4V), hiccup-mode overload protection, and an exceptionally low <1.0mA leakage current, it is the most versatile RSP model for specialized industrial, test & measurement, and compliance-critical applications.

Built around 100KHz PFC+PWM switching with 88~264VAC universal input, the RSP-200 achieves PF>0.98 at 115VAC and is EN61000-3-2 compliant for EU residential use. It introduces hiccup mode overload protection (105~135%) with auto-recovery - different from the constant current limiting used in smaller RSP models - and offers optional moisture-proof conformal coating for humidity-critical environments.

Measuring 215x115x30mm, the RSP-200 shares the same form factor as LRS-200N2. Unique features include Dekra EN 61558-1/2-16 certification (for 12V+ models), 5000uF external capacitance support across all models up to 15V, <1.0mA leakage current (lowest in the RSP family), and BIS coverage for 9 of 12 models (excluding 2.5V, 4V, and 48V).

Why is the hold-up time only 8ms?

The RSP-200 uses a different PFC architecture optimized for efficiency and cost at 200W, resulting in a shorter 8ms hold-up time vs 16ms on RSP-75/100/150. In practice, 8ms covers ~0.5 cycle at 60Hz - sufficient for most industrial applications but may require external hold-up capacitors or UPS for critical systems with frequent brownouts.

What are the 2.5V and 4V models used for?

2.5V serves legacy TTL/CMOS logic, FPGA core voltages, and specialized test equipment. 4V is used in LED testing, battery formation equipment, and certain industrial controllers. Both are extremely rare voltages in enclosed supplies - the RSP-200 is often the only enclosed PFC option available at these voltages.

Can the RSP-200 be used in EU residential equipment?

Yes. Active PFC with EN61000-3-2 compliance and Class B EMC. The additional Dekra EN 61558 certification (12V+) provides transformer safety compliance for the EU market.

How does hiccup mode overload protection work?

Unlike constant current limiting (used in RSP-75/100/150) which maintains current flow, hiccup mode periodically attempts to restart the output when an overload is detected. If the fault persists, it keeps cycling on/off. If the fault clears, normal operation resumes automatically. This is safer for some load types and reduces component stress during prolonged overloads.
