The RSP-320 series is MEAN WELL's 320W enclosed power supply with the broadest single-output voltage coverage - 12 models from 2.5V to 48V. It packs 60% more power than the RSP-200 into the same 215x115x30mm chassis using intelligent DC fan forced-air cooling - making it the highest-density PFC supply in its form factor.

Built around 100KHz PFC+PWM dual-stage architecture with 88~264VAC universal input, the RSP-320 achieves PF>0.98 at 115VAC and is fully EN61000-3-2 compliant for EU residential use. Key platform upgrades include 5,000m operating altitude (vs 2,000m on RSP-200), an LED power-on indicator, and a larger 100KHz PWM stage (vs lower frequency on smaller RSP models) for cleaner output.

Measuring 215x115x30mm, the RSP-320 shares the same footprint as LRS-200N2 and RSP-200 - but delivers 320W through a built-in DC fan. The fan is speed-controlled based on internal temperature, ensuring noise is only present when needed. OVP triggers output shutdown requiring a restart (not auto-recovery like the overload protection). External capacitance support of 5,000uF for 2.5V~15V models. BIS certified for 10 of 12 models (excluding 2.5V and 48V).

How does the RSP-320 differ from the RSP-200?

The RSP-320 delivers 320W vs 200W (+60%) in the same 215x115x30mm form factor. Does the fan run continuously?

The RSP-320 uses an intelligent DC fan with speed control. At light loads and low ambient temperatures, the fan runs at minimum speed or may be near-silent. At higher loads and temperatures, fan speed increases to maintain safe internal temperatures. This is different from the fanless RSP-200 and SE series continuous fans.

Can the RSP-320 be used at 5,000m altitude?

Yes - 5,000m is the rated operating altitude (OVC II). This is the highest in the RSP enclosed family (RSP-200: 2,000m). Note that the fan-cooled design requires derating at 5C per 1,000m above 2,000m per the manufacturer's derating guidelines.

What happens when OVP triggers?

Unlike the hiccup-mode overload protection (auto-recovery), OVP triggers a hard output shutdown. The power supply must be restarted (power cycle AC input) after the overvoltage condition is resolved. This is a safety design - overvoltage indicates a fault that should be investigated before resuming operation.

Is the RSP-320 suitable for outdoor or high-vibration applications?

The RSP-320 is tested to 2G vibration (10~500Hz) and operates from -30~70C. It does not carry an IP rating - enclosure required for outdoor use. For applications requiring higher vibration resistance (5G+), consider the LRS-N2 series. For fanless outdoor use at lower power, consider the RSP-200.
