The HDR-150 series is the largest HDR family model -- a 150W Class II plastic DIN rail supply with a 105mm (6SU) width and dual-rated 115/230Vac power output. Unlike the HDR-100 with its Blank/N LPS dual-grade system, HDR-150 is a single-grade platform where output power scales with input voltage: 115Vac delivers 122~131W, while 230Vac unlocks the full 135~153.6W depending on output voltage. Only 24V/48V models reach a full 150W/153.6W at 230Vac.

The HDR-150 accepts 85~264Vac input (277Vac usable, 390Vdc usable) with 3A/115V, 1.6A/230V AC current. No LPS (Limited Power Source) certification on any variant -- HDR-150 is designed for maximum power rather than safety-limited output. Four voltages: 12V, 15V, 24V, and 48V. Efficiency ranges from 89% (12V) to 90.5% (24V/48V) -- the highest in the HDR family. The 105~135% OLP uses the same dual-mode behaviour as HDR-60/100 (hiccup below 50% Vo, constant current above), with auto-recovery in both modes.

A key upgrade over HDR-100 is the addition of UL61010 (laboratory/measurement equipment) certification alongside UL62368-1/UL508, making HDR-150 the most broadly certified HDR model. It holds IEC62368-1, UL62368-1, UL61010, TUV BS EN/EN61558-2-16, BS EN/EN61558-1, and EAC, with BIS IS13252 (except 48V) and design reference to BS EN/EN50178 and TUV BS EN/EN62368-1. EMC compliance is Class B radiated at 230Vac (Class A at 110Vac), with Class B conducted, Harmonics Class A (tested at 70% load), and EN61000-6-2 immunity including Surge Level 4 2KV/L-N.

How does dual-rated power output work on HDR-150?

HDR-150 output power scales with input voltage. At 115Vac, you get 122~131W (e.g. 12V = 10.2A/122.4W, 48V = 2.72A/130.6W). At 230Vac, the same unit delivers 135~153.6W (12V = 11.3A/135.6W, 48V = 3.2A/153.6W). This is different from the HDR-100 Blank/N system -- HDR-150 has one variant per voltage and the power difference is determined by your mains voltage. For maximum power, ensure the unit is connected to 230Vac.

Why does HDR-150 not have LPS certification?

HDR-150 is designed for maximum power -- 150W exceeds typical LPS limits. If your application requires LPS (Limited Power Source) for fire safety compliance, consider HDR-100 Blank models (LPS certified, max 92W) or other MEAN WELL LPS DIN rail supplies. HDR-150's UL61010 certification provides a different safety profile focused on laboratory and measurement equipment applications.

Is BIS available for HDR-150-48?

No. The 48V model (HDR-150-48) is specifically excluded from BIS IS13252 certification. If India compliance is required at 48V, consider HDR-100-48 (BIS may be available -- contact sales) or other MEAN WELL DIN rail supplies with 48V BIS certification.

What does UL61010 certification mean for my application?

UL61010 is the safety standard for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use. This means HDR-150 is certified for use in test and measurement racks, lab power supplies, analytical instrumentation, and industrial process control equipment. Combined with UL62368-1 (ITE) and UL508 (industrial control), HDR-150 is the most broadly certified HDR model for mixed-use panels.

How does input voltage affect EMI performance?

HDR-150 achieves Class B radiated EMI at 230Vac but drops to Class A at 110Vac. Conducted EMI remains Class B at all input voltages. For installations requiring Class B radiated emissions in 110Vac regions, consider operating the unit from a 230Vac step-up transformer, or verify that your system-level EMI compliance accounts for this behaviour. Harmonics are Class A and tested at 70% load.
