The XDR-960E series is the absolute flagship of the XDR-E family — a near-kilowatt 960W economy DIN rail power supply with Active PFC and massive 3840W (3+1) parallel scalability. Designed for 230Vac-only industrial environments, it delivers unprecedented power density in a 96mm-wide fanless chassis.

⚠ Important: 180~264Vac input only — NOT compatible with 115Vac mains. The XDR-960E is a 230V-only platform optimized for high-power industrial and infrastructure applications where 115V is not available. Available in three output voltages - 24V (40A/960W), 36V (26.6A/957.6W), and 48V (20A/960W) — there is no 12V model. Efficiency ranges from 94.5% to 95.5% with Active PFC (PF>0.95).

The built-in parallel capability via P_LINK uses the same proven droop-mode current sharing as XDR-480E, scaling to an astonishing 3840W with 4 units. The 6-pin output terminal block (3x+/3x-) supports heavy 8 AWG wiring for the massive current levels. OVP protection uses shutdown mode requiring a restart (not hiccup auto-recovery like 480E), reflecting the higher-power safety requirements at this wattage level.

The XDR-960E holds full global certifications (CB/TUV/UL/CUL/CCC/BSMI/EAC/KC/BIS), triple safety standards (62368-1 + 61558-1/2-16 + 61010-1/-2-201), DC OK relay, OVC III, SELV, 4KVac isolation, and Class B EMC. Frequently Asked Questions

⚠ Can I use XDR-960E on 115Vac mains?

No. The XDR-960E input range is 180~264Vac only. It will not start or operate at 115Vac. This is an intentional design choice to maximize efficiency and power density for 230V industrial environments. For 115V/230V universal input at similar power levels, consider the XDR-480E (480W) or paralleling multiple XDR-480E units.

How does the parallel operation handle such high currents?

Same droop-mode principle as XDR-480E, but with 6-pin output terminals (3x+/3x-) supporting 8 AWG wire. With 4 units paralleled for 3840W, total output current can reach 160A at 24V. Use short, thick bus bars or cables, keep voltage drop minimal, and ensure <0.1V difference between units.

How does XDR-960E differ from XDR-960 (premium)?

The XDR-960 (premium) adds: MODBus RS-485, diagnostic LED, 96% efficiency, ORing FET, 200% peak power, DNV/SEMI/HazLoc, GL wall-mount, and 5-year warranty. The XDR-960E (economy) simplifies to: PFC + parallel + DC OK + OVC III + IEC61010 — the essential features at a significantly lower price. Both use the same 96mm 960W platform.

Why is OVP shutdown instead of hiccup mode?

At near-kilowatt power levels, a hiccup-mode OVP could cycle large currents through the protection circuitry, creating thermal stress. The XDR-960E uses shutdown-mode OVP (restart to recover) as a safer approach for high-power operation. This is a deliberate design trade-off for reliability at 960W.

Is 3.9W no-load power normal for 960W?

Yes. At 960W rated output, 3.9W no-load represents just 0.4% of rated power. This is the housekeeping power for the PFC stage, control circuits, and auxiliary supply in a fanless high-power design. It is higher than lower-wattage XDR-E models but negligible relative to the 960W output capability.
